Where is this ?

At Brandvlei Dam outside Worcester. It's mostly closed to the general public, except for cyclists.

The road runs through Nekkies Resort and across a private farm before you pop out on the Villiersdorp Road at Cilmore Cellar.

Across the dam in the last two pics (under the clouds) you can see Brandvlei Correctional Facilities.

Funny how 'Monstercross' has just fallen by the wayside and they're all just gravel bikes now .... but best not to see an angry monster 🤪

I just love this bike, love how odd it actually is ... Lefty, pure road shifters 11Sp with a doohicky to be able to use an 11sp MTB derailleur and wide range cassette. Chain guide just to keep the chain on the single blade .... mechanical to hydraulic brake calipers. MTB carbon front rim but a road carbon deep section rear rim but still tubeless

A hoot to ride though 😎

In the growing quest to become 'less fat cyclist', @snapshot decided (in her infinite wisdom), that today is the day I go die on a hill. It's a short hill. Problem is, when you're 138kg's (down from 141 in January, and down from 161 in December 2024 mind you!), any hill kills you. Thank heavens for the Cannondale Topstone's gearing. I do love that bike. Seattle Coffee soothed the soul.
