Great to see WPCA racing league thriving

En my nig, Liezel het die elite vroue gewen. What a champ and I believed in her. Years ago I told her mom to join us on the road bike and that open the world for her, and she was already good on the mtb. I remember that day clear, Sanlam/Stellenbosch cycle tour, she was on Anriette Schoeman case all the way in the race, even Anriette Shoeman team manager was bussy scratching between the papers to see who this little girl is on a aluminium bike that is gunning Anriette. After the race, I went down to Anriette to speak to her and she called Liezel to come speak to her and anriette manager.  They where super impressed and never seen her before. Year later, Liezel wins the the Stellenbosch cycle tour.

Saturday afternoon spin up Tokai...

When ascending, I usually just head up the jeep track passed Lizard to then go up Boulder and seldom go right at Vasbyt towards the Snake Trails, but I headed that way this time and found the single track they build that climbs up alongside the jeep track to between Boomslang and Snake Eyes! Very lekker!  Good job, Tokai MTB!

Lekker morning out, perfect weather.

I recently bought this bike wash after years of using dishwash. If you hate someone buy them this 💩! The whole bike was white all over after multiple rinses, from a quick wash to a huge pain in the .....

Hijack on

Asseblief don't use Sunlight or any other dishwashing soap. It is full of salt and other stuff that attacks gloss and matt finishes on bikes. Some Shield or similar car wash is a much better bet and won't break the bank

I've had no issues with the my bikes and always get compliments for how clean my bikes are. Plus dishwash doesn't effect your brakes and great for cleaning the cassette. But hey if you feel it doesn't work for you cool 👍🏻

Friday with the little one..

And Sunday without him.. struggling these days to get out the door without him, he loves riding!

This is awesome. My youngest outgrew the Feva Seat about a year ago, and this past weekend she upgraded from her balance bike to her first 16" peddle bike for her 4th birthday.

Oldest is getting his first 29er this coming weekend for his 15th birthday. It's awesome to share a passion for cycling with your kids.

Down to Hell but not out!!!

Gamka causeway impassable and I am not going back up the Ladder!!

I have climbed The Ladder, but WITHOUT a loaded bike ......... so, in my mind at least, you get the weekly DJR admiration prize for bravest guy on 2 wheels or 2 legs. Such a pity you could not pass the Gamka and climb out the other side of The Hell. Make a note to go back when you have the chance, it is truly Heaven ( and Hell) to ride.

And to think THAT ladder was the ONLY access into and out of Die Hel for decades.

Only in 1962 was the "pass" opened to the Swartberg side.

RESPECT @capediver !!!!

We have driven down to the Die Hel twice, I have even cycled most of the way down.  But going down the Ladder .... WOW !!!!

PS - Stop at Prince Albert Tourism Office .... they (used to) have A5 booklets of the history and stories of the various passes in the area, and the Gamkaskloof, etc.  Paid R20 to R25 per book in the 90's .... still turn the pages from time to time.
