My bike took me to Dullstroom Backpackers on Sunday. I arrived at around 11 am Sunday morning from 'Boven after a very wet and muddy trip. I met Billaroo for the first time. What an awesome place he has here. My wife drove through and met up with me soon after.

We were treated to the "Backpackers" coffee (Amarula is involved), and Billa made us feel at home right away. He had a fire going, and I could warm up after being soaked by the soft but consistent mist-rain en-route. The well stocked honesty bar was welcome too, and I enjoyed a cold beverage (or two) after the coffee whilst slumping in the plush couch in the living room, resting my weary legs.

The facilities are fantastic, and Billa is a great host. For anyone looking for a weekend breakaway in Dullstroom - this is the place. There's even a bicycle mechanic on call (I had a wee problem with my headset, and Callen sorted it out chop-chop. He delivered my bike on Sunday evening. More fantastic service.)

I will definitely be spending some time at Billa's place, exploring the riding around the Dullstroom area.

Dullstroom has some good fly-fishing if I'm not mistaken.

So woke up this morning at 5am for literally the first time as I am by no means a morning person...

Made myself Weetbix & Rice Crispies (yeah, I love mixing porridge) and a cup of coffee. Afterward, I got my cycling clothes and was on the road.

That morning breeze was amazing! Loved it. :)

Arrived at Bloemendal in one piece. Passed a few cyclist on my way. Did the B-Spot and the climb, following Lombards descend. Did B-Spot again and was greeted with two brothers riding. Unfortunately, the one had a flat tyre. They asked if I had a pump, so I gave them mine. No luck.

Then I settled back home. Safely at home and what an amazing ride on my bike this morning. Awesome way to start the day!

Next time I will take my El Cheapo Point and Shoot because my phone's camera is mediocre. Please excuse my last photo. My left eye was apparently still asleep

Unfortunately my day did not plan out as I want it to...

Luckily a fellow BikeHubber @Gravity (Bertorium, I hope I spell it correctly) saved my life!

Super friendly guy and was nice to meet him. He saved me from walking almost 8km back to home, so really thanks a lot, Bertorium.
