Had a nice 61km gravel and tar ride today. Really enjoyed riding with my best cycling buddy, myself. Cycled to Brandwag, Hartenbos, Santos beach where I met with the wife and kids and decided to cycle back to Groot Brak. Saw Botlierskop still smouldering after last night's fire on the koppie next to the lodge and owners house.

Conters to hoogies and back. Excl trail Z & Q.

 

Parked at conters then ride through to Hoogies, did the normal loop with Cobra and headed back to Conters to do the normal loop of Supertubes and Die Kloof, ending with Tree Charge and a coffee & bran muffin at the Dairy Shed.

 

Was bloody warm out there today. Was interesting riding when I last ate at 5pm. Legs weren't anywhere once I'd got back to Contermanskloof.

Ja dude. You get elevation so easily down here. Also means you're absolutely farked by the time the fun stuff starts. But I need to get better at it.

 

Oh and thanks. Won't lie, I was seriously thinking of not doing the Contermanskloof loop when I got to the crossroads. Glad I did though.

The trick is to do conties first, so you do the k@k road climb first. We parked at Hoogekraal today, did contermans and then the hoogies/faircape loop.
