Marco's F bomb 🤣

Creds to the coverage. It really is top class free coverage. Sahm pinning it holding Scott wheel with a massive back pack on.

He is using an ebike probably similar to our lady friend the other day to "see what it is like at the sharp end"  🫠🤣

Raining now on most parts of the route.. Have to feel for the amateurs having to climb The Neck in that toffee mud. Even the elite ladies pushing bikes up there now

Just maybe soft drizzle. Not enough to make mud. In Strand and most parts of Somerset West it is still bone dry.

Outside Stellenbosch, Devonbosch, it was dry this morning.  BUT, that humidity !!  Lots of people cut their distance back from the 10km due to the humidity.

I was thinking of @DieselnDust and others that had to work much harder in these conditions.

EDIT - Trackside update - light drizzle.  Perfect cycling weather.

Even though the live footage showed the lead ladies pushing their bikes with tyres clogged by mud.

I love the internet where everyone is an expert no matter what…

You must not be watching the live feed.. The Neck was already a mud fest when the elite ladies got there.. elite men just missed the rain and mud in time

Now I know why I do not actively engage on these forums anymore. Everybody gets personally attacked left right and centre.

Cheers.

Sorry man no personal offense meant.

Some of the comments on this thread have been a bit ill considered.

My bad.

Words, typed or spoken, have power:

The little grain of truth is that you are responsible for being speculative instead of conclusive with the information that you shared. And, in a similar vein, you post "everybody gets personally attacked left right and centre" is also a disproportionate reflection of BIkeHub commentary; things are relatively chilled.

Like I tell my 12 year old son often: "Don't get offended so easily; the world out there can be harsh. Chin up." A lesson for myself on my bad days too.

Back to the racing and its crazy weather gods in the Western Cape.

I'm just curious, anyone know what the deal with Toyota looks like? I counted 8x Cape Epic branded brand new Land Cruiser Prado support vehicles at the start line this morning. Must be rentals or sponsored just for the duration of the event, right? Can't imagine the organizers spending R13mill just on support vehicles.

Toyota factory vehicles that are provided to events sponsored by Toyota around SA

Imbuko Chemchamp is mixing it up in front again.
can anyone recall what the highest an SA team was on GC? IIRC the Chem Brothers duo was 2nd the last year they raced together? But my memory from that era is clouded by disappointment.
