But does it perform as promised?

Yeah - I wouldn't say it is a silver bullet, but I certainly no longer need double-wrapped bars and gel gloves for long rides. I'm keeping the stiffer elastomers for now, but might play around when I have more gravel coming up. I'd say the biggest difference is when hitting corrugations at a reasonable speed, it takes much longer to get that "out of control" feeling - so the damping is working.

Also, there is no disconnected feeling between the bars and the bike, which I was worried about. Might change with some less stiff elastomers though.

My first post in a few years. Moved the family to Alberta, Canada 3 years ago, and had to sell all cycling goods to help fund the move at the time.
I’m really proud of this purchase. After riding for the past 12 years on used bikes through my student years and early career and a pretty cool kid, this is my first brand new bike, Specialized Chisel Evo, and after 3 years off a bike, the thighs definitely screamed at me today, but man, was I happy to be peddling something again!

I hate those pavers - have fallen there myself - erosion on the sides can make them tricky -

In Germany we have the option to lease bicycles through our company. My company has the agreement that we pay 1/3 of the purchasing price, they pay 1/3 and then the government gives a 1/3 subsidy. This also helps a bit with the tax (my 1/3 is deducted from Gross, so no tax paid on my 1/3 and the company scores a bit as well because of employees riding). Nou ja, ek het die sommetjies gemaak and got 2 bikes. My absolute DREAM bike and a road bike. Downside, dream bike not ridable due to DT Swiss wheel recall. Maar dis ok.

Dream bike! Spec: Canyon Speedmax, Ultegra Di2, 4iiii Powermeter and DT Swiss wheels (front is part of the recall, maar altwee moet ingaan).

Maar die een kan (en het ek al) gery. Die skool vakansie het net begin (Duitsland joke, as die lang somer vakansie begin reën dit die eerste 2 weke) so ek ry nie nastenby soveel as wat ek wil nie! Spec: Canyon Ultimate, Ultegra Di2, 4iiii Powermeter and DT Swiss wheels (not part of the recall 😂)

And waxed chains…….
