erm..... 150mm dropper. Climbing is fiiiine. But spacers going above until I find the right position. Just needed a tad more reach. The spacers under the bar were bringing the bar too close for my liking. This should take the bars about 15mm forwards when compared to the previous setup, but at the same height. Plus - it's green.

And personally, I don't care about climbing. I'll do it, no problem. But it's not where my stoke gets filled. It's a means to an end.

Ahh, 150mm makes sense.

I'm also considering a similar move, slammed riser stem and 20 mm rise bars. Stack height on my enduro 29 becomes an issue when you're a shortsh*t.

Nice to turn 50.  The wife gave me an “acceptable” budget.  Took almost 2 months to decide what to buy.  New XT crank for the Stages power meter, and the TACX Bashido trainer to join the Zwift crowd.  Rotor ovals on its way for the crank!!!  The Santa Cruz is smiling.

I'll have a look, thanks. Ja this reel is smooth as silk. I've never had a Penn, always stuck to Shimano, actually I bought my first Daiwa the other day, a little procast to go with my ultra light rod, also a lekker little reel.

Lekker. It's my first Penn.

So after a serious 'mishap' with an almost broken RD cable while we were away on our South Coast retirement camping tour I had to make a small change ... I mean the only way to ensure it didn't happen again is to 'upgrade' not so?

No the 'eagle hasn't landed' but it will do for me.

Thanks to JCZA (an absolute pleasure to deal with BTW) I could go from my 'Heath Robinson' 1*10 11-42 that worked 'OK' with this bling (used but great condition, at a very reasonable price as well) 1*11 XTR drivetrain 11-46. It came with an XT shifter but with a stroke of luck my son in law had an XTR available that he was willing to swop for mahala [emoji3]504de38c4aa7d1c931d30216def65dc9.jpgc479323e6248c433e5d5c7791c9ab6ec.jpg5965c31218681444032433ab70a6ecb1.jpg

Flow mk3's on black Hope 4's with blue nipples to go with my blue Jeffsy. Finally sorted out the cassette and freehub spacers and they're good to roll... Now I'd better roll them

Best upgrade you could've made!!
