What a machine - my first Cannondale that is not black!

Credit to @Vlam1zn for being a solid trader. Respect.

Started with an insanely good deal from my LBS on a 140mm Marzocchi Bomber Z2 that came off a new bike.  I paid four times less than the usual sticker price and quickly also nabbed another Z2 and a Rockshox Pike that also came off new bikes.  Prices were so good that nabbed seems the only appropriate word.  One for my son and the other to sell on.

Could not find an in-stock external cup 44/40 lower headset, to fit a tapered steerer to a 44mm straight head tube, in SA.  eBay to the rescue but rather using my original dust cap and top cap and bolt.  Hub to go from non-boost to 15x110.  Cut spokes hopefully arriving next week and can hardly wait to rip this upgrade on the trails.

local and in stock

https://www.summitbikes.co.za/index.php?id_product=1382&controller=product

Then, more expensive but here are the cane creek ones, i prefer them for serviceability.

in stock if you buy bottom and top separately:

Despite checking perhaps a dozen LBSs and online sites I somehow didn’t think to check Isiko and simply didn’t know about Summit, a bit like Cloudy...

I’d have gone for that Summit offer instead of waiting as long as I did from an Asian retailer on eBay at half the price including S&H.  Will mostdef remember to check those sites in future, thank you.

Again…it’s a sin that most of the work is already done but they exclude that feature for a part the cost of some takeout. Epic for you if you can see through their BS…but silly nontheless The world is broken.

PS: its a thing in computer hardware too. They’ll sell you something 2/3 the price of something topend but peg it back with software🤷‍♂️

It shows you that value is only what it is perceived to be

The latest trend with vehicle manufacturers is for hardware to come factory fitted, you buy (either one-off or subscribe) the basic or the enhanced and get the functionality, for e.g. fancy LED lights, etc. This means the car come pre-fitted with ALL the hardware!

Don't know about you but I am not looking forward to have similar issues with all my stuff as with software subs like Acrobat, etc.

Like how you cant even have the Pantone color books in Adobe suites without subs anymore 🤣

they deserve all the piracy they get
