Think my first post was a snarky comment about people willing to pay many thousands for expensive bikes but cannot pay R200 for an event entry, almost got my head bitten off but like a bad rash I stuck around and the hub still hasn't managed to get rid of me...

That would make an interesting thread “Post your first post” if it was possible to find each persons first post.

 

Have no idea what mine was, I’d hazard a guess it would have involved LA, my profile says member since April 2005....

I joined in 2007. Google found this for me. Not 100% sure it’s my first post, but it’s close.

 

I still have that blue band around my fork steerer, to this day.

Yaaaa.  I do know though that his first book helped me through a pretty dark patch in my life and that little yellow piece of rubber was a positive reminder of that.  So while these days having one is frowned upon, I do still have mine in the drawer next to my bed.
