I'll be dropping back from 2C to 3E to ride with a mate....

Ok I see no one want's to ride with me from way back in 3K.   It is fine - I will just see myself as the backstop who will make sure everyone is ok and that no one get's left behind     I will carry extra tubes and spares ....

I will be dropping back from 15e to 26z so I can ride slower and drink more hydrate better.

I won't be dropping back........but both my boys are dropping back to ride with me. Really looking forward to a slow and fun one. Hope we have a nice day out. Bit of wind to keep it cool, bit of cloud to give shade! That's all I'm hoping for. This year, no time goal, just to finish in one piece. (As it is, one of the younger Ds had a crash 2 days ago and is covered in road rash. Took one hand off bars, looked over his shoulder, hit a bump and hit the tar next. On a brand new bike. Luckily only saddle and bar tape ruined.)

Best believe that I will use my Diesel engine to power us around until Suikerbossie where I will go out the back so quickly it will look like I opened a parachute

yeah same here. this is cape town, no weather app can predict the weather. the only way to know what the weather is doing is to go outside, and that is only for that particular time and place, drive 5km down the road and you'll be in a different weather pattern
