This stunning bike just needs an 860mm straight handlebar to be theee perfect hardcore gravel grinder, for those really bad gravel roads....

Imo the RD is a nice piece of mechanical design. No short or long cage - one RD for all cassette ranges.

We will probably see 13s with the same style RD on Campy road gruppos, too.

 

I like the crank - on road bikes I preferred the older 5 arm crank design, but on a gravel bike the style fits well. I dont agree with the OP about direct mount rings - easier imo to fit a ring without removing the crank. But I also dont swap rings unless they are worn, so small plus.

The other big change is the thumb shifter - it is a lot bigger to shift from the drops. It looks less elegant now imo, like a bluetooth earphone or something that would not look out of place on an ear. I never had problems shifting from the drops, but I guess that became an issue with larger brifters.

I dont likr disk brifters, no matter the brand.

Non e-bikes are better. I have a friend who was 80km into a stage race and his battery fell out of his e-bike and I had to get him back over the remaining 28km
