@SoloCyclist the official statement is.. "we may or May not do substitutions.." Probably depends who you speak to.. Historically, they do substitutions at the expo..

I would not mind if there is a little rain on Sunday. A wet CTCT is about the only conditions I have never done it in. (Mind you, please, no storms and torrents.)

No queues or issues, everything flows well and seems to be well organised.

Expo is same-old same-old with people panic buying tjubes, tyres and nutrition 😂

Do they ask for your timing chip when you enter the expo? Because all of a sudden mine is now missing

No they did not ask for mine.

You could get a new 1 at the entrance.

they scan it at the entrance but mine is on my bike, they said it's fine. No problem, except trafic in town, parking, walking all around the expo.... last year I cycled there it was much easier

Both, but only in the second isle ....

Popped in at the expo after a meeting.

 

Finding parking was the worst part ... even that was only about 5 minutes.

 

The shoots start OUTSIDE the stadium .... here you show you vax card, or test result .... or are diverted.  I had my ID and vax card ready so it was but a few seconds.

 

As a first timer I immediately turned to the right .... to collect my RaceTec chip.  I was helped quickly.  Decided to go for an "ankle chip" ..... would it work if I strapped this low down on the frame ?

 

10 steps further people were scanning their old RaceTec chips to check if it worked.  There was no line, so I quickly checked mine.

 

 

Then the "long walk" next to the artificial grass to get to the actual expo and to collect my race number.  Tables are CLEARLY marked, and none had long lines.  Again super efficient service.

 

 

Then I started circling the expo .... as a first timer it was interesting .... and I did buy a few items.

 

 

WELL DONE to the CTCT team
