Sepia Posted December 2, 2021 Share Might be of interest......somebody might have tried it previously. I plugged a large puncture in a tubeless tyre and after a while it started to leak again. The tyre was still in good nick so decided to MacGyver it as I had nothing to repair it with, or so I thought. I opened the tyre and squirted some Alcolin over the leaking plug and worked it into the leak and the plug fell out. I let it congeal for a bit, added about 60ml Alcolin to the sealant and pumped up. After 600kms the hole is still sealed and all is good. Maybe the tyre will be difficult to remove ????

ACM Posted December 2, 2021 Share Had a side wall cut that I plugged, but it kept loosing air with the tyre flexing. Put sikaflex around the plug and problem solved. _David_ and Brighter-Lights

Zebra Posted December 3, 2021 Share Using wood glue on a puncture is KNOT recommended; it just GUM’s up the works, makes you PINE for a more lasting result, and may leave you WEEPING like a, er, willow… Paul Ruinaard, Scary Rider, DJR and 6 others 3

Jewbacca Posted December 3, 2021 Share The best solution for plugged tires is to take the tire off, take the plug out, clean it and patch it on the inside with a piece of latex strip. Just saying. I got a piece of 0.4mm Diaphragm rubber from supplier, works like charm, it is nicely re-enforced with fibers as well. gerriemtb, TheoG and Jewbacca

DieselnDust Posted December 3, 2021 Share patching old tyres affects their symatree. They will need to be dynamically balanced to extract marginal grains Zebra and LBKloppers
