Does that mean you made it to the feds to lay a charge and he was arrested?

Hey…Controlled burning sometimes lead to wildfires🤷‍♂️

But you have to start somewhere…its good for the lifecycle and environment even though it initially looks like total destruction. 👀

Right @Meezo?

😊

More often than not, usually it is the arrogant ones that let a controlled burn get out of hand(in more ways than one). 2 weeks ago from my office I watched the farmer across the valley 'control burn' to make it easier to plough. They managed to put it out only after it had torn through 4 farms and burnt 8km down the valley.

haha and the amount of approval's you need for controlled burning....

unless of course its your own land... don't drag me in to put out your fires, I'm not officially a qualified volunteer firefighter

It is illegal even on your own land during fire season.

But fire fighting can be a lot of fun actually. Can be really cr.....p, but can be fun...

Ok so true story:

i was at a wine estate chilling, having lunch, drinking wine earlier this year. I saw him at the table next to us with the owners of the farm. Made nothing of it.
He still wears those shirts btw.

My wife was oblivious. So an hour or two passes and they get ready to leave. Mr Johan comes up to my wife and asks her if she can take a picture of their group at the table. Very polite. Before she could answer, i say: net vir n R50’tjies…

wife still oblivious just laughs along. So i tell her afterwards it was mr johan and she is still kicking herself for not seeing it in the moment🤣

ps: my sister was in school with his son and as you can imagine…poor guy got so much grief in the 90’s for his dad being a legend
