We rode up from Kalambaka - so we didn't go over the Katara pass. Looks like an amazing road though - we might go that way on the way to Corfu - but by car. :rolleyes:

Sounds awesome. I need to get to Greece with my bike next time, there are some great cycling roads in northern Greece. 

we once drove katara pass during a snow blizzard, took us forever as visibility was really bad.

nitpicking I am; Prof Google says:

"Highest ever rainfall in one year was measured at Jonkershoek in the Western Cape (3 874 mm in 1950). The wettest place in South Africa is Matiwa, with an average annual rainfall of 2 004 mm (calculated over a 60-year period)."

So maybe 3m p.a., not 1.3?

You are, ofc,  correct - my comment was typed from memory (Newlands is the wettest SUBURB in SA, not place).  Was lazy, shoulda used google...
