Overheard a Roadies vs MTBrs discussion this morning ... just have to shake your head 🤔

There are 'pratts' (my FIL David, a great man, taught me that word) in all walks of life including cycling, in ALL of its disciplines!

It’s also not good for your own cycling development to ignore other disciplines within our sport. But hey everyone wants to be part of the 'cool kids' I guess 😎

I love riding bikes, ANY bikes!

Gotta tell you folks, all these “big sky” pics loaded recently make my heart lus. We just don’t get that here in what has been a very grey and miserable winter.

it has been awful for months...a few good days recently...difficult to get the cycling bug in a consistent fashion

"You know, bicycling isn't just a matter of balance; it's a matter of faith. You can keep upright only by moving forward. You have to have your eyes on the goal, not the ground. I'm going to call that the Bicyclist's Philosophy of Life."

Tuesday commute, with a COOLISH 5.30am start, so broke out the Gilet for the 01st time this 'season'...!

Quite a lot to see this morning; Mayor or Premier and some big wigs having a 6am breakfast at Camps Bay Tidal pool - no pics, but it was all rather formal!

...and then 40 - 50 Metro + SA Police + Municipal vehicles at Bantry POINT; I stopped to look over the wall, since there was a fair bit of Abseiling going on, and way below in the rocks a little informal village had set up in the rocks next to the ocean, and it was all being cleared up - the sheer amount of clothing and shelter-building materials was staggering - they authorities must have arrived at around 4 or 4.30a.m. to 'net' the group of people, and then painfully bring all that material back up the insanely-steep slope! I saw at least 2 gents being escorted up the slope, but reckon this must have been a group of 10, or more, 'campers'...

After this, a beautiful Moon Set - pics NEVER do it justice, and on in to work.

(only upsetting part of the morning was 1-too-many 'WhipperSnappers' racing past me, like I was standing still - grrr...!)
