Hi Hubbers,
Went up Jonkers this AM via Irish - so lekker
Stopped to take in the awesomeness and recalibrate before the race of the rat kicks off another cycle...
Almost at the end of Armageddon I realise I forgot my glasses between Irish 7 and the last black climb section to saaltjie
Had no time (or energy) to go up an retrieve it - informed the lady at the gate if someone might return it (wishful)
(Actually noticed it in one of the pics I took)
Anyway....if by some miracle.... D'Arcs photochromic sunglasses - holla at me please
By voorbaat dankie
Many thanks
Warmest of regards

Went back this AM and.....glasses gone, nothing handed in at the gate either.
Anyway, was a lekker ride nonetheless. Conditions were prime

A little dirty, and wet, out there. Worth getting out of bed for.

That bridge is pretty much part of my usual route.  I do many dirty bad things, but mud is not one of them, will rather do a tar ride this afternoon ...  :)

I don’t mind the dirt and mud and wet; I just don’t like what it does to the drivetrain.

The tar:dirt ratio was probably 50/50 today, stayed off the known bad bits and tried to ride the bits with semi-decent drainage.

Also saw lots of broken glass on the roads, as well as other rubbish that washed onto the road.

Wind was PUMPING during the night.  I questioned my own sanity for wanting to get out there .....

But once the wheels start turning :)

It was a tough, but LEKKA ride.  Doing the last 25km straight into the wind .... actually had to pedal to keep my speed on downhill sections :cursing:

Only time I don’t use that bridge is when I ride road . The water was flowing pretty quickly yesterday.
