Happy Birthday to me ride...

 

I'm really locked into this bike..

Pretty hot at 8am and I must say the pool after the ride was the only way I would have made it home...

...................decided a year or two ago, to take leave on my bday every year. Best gift to myself ever...............

I've done that ever since I started working. It is strongly recommended! :thumbup:

A pre 94.7 amble around the suburbs and passed one of my LBS's .... apparently I don't have the hipster thing sorted but hey I had fun anyway!

 

Takes a while every time to get used to the fact that when you try to freewheel (it's a fixie) while the bike is moving at a reasonable speed you almost get ejected over the handlebar and that you need to brake on the downhills for fear of unscrewing your hips ........

Note to self, tar is slippery when wet! Stuck with a roasty the size and colour of a cricket ball on my upper thigh now :(

 

Not a lekker day in the saddle for me. 30 of my 80 kilos were straight into a massive head wind, I got rained on, my ass hurt, but I achieved my target, so I'm happy!

 

At least the view was pretty!

On saturday two loops of mixed green and blue routes at the vlei

 

On the final loop going through the turns in the reeds i had to make a sudden stop for one of the locals. Snapped a quick pic and let him be
