What a nice way to bring in the new year, excellent weather, empty roads, and stunning trails !

My first time to ride from home to the trails, and then ride the trails .... been doing the bike-rack thing for the last 18 months.

nice 7,5km commute to get to the start of the trail, with a nice couple of hills to warm up the legs ...  :whistling:

Pity (but understandable) that the coffee shop at Bloemendal is closed today.

Did a nice fast run of B-Spot, then started the climb .... at the last second I decided to do the Protea corridor, as apposed to Magic Forrest.  After D'Aria I settled into a nice rythm and picked up a bit of speed on the level section ..... got used to the longer A-frames, then had a slight oops on the one steep A-frame.  :cursing:   Fortunately just a few scrapes, most importantly, no damage to the bike.

Then a 7km commute back home.

What a nice ride !!

Climbing up the back of the Pena Montenesa on the route the Enduro World Series used back in September when they held Stage 7 of the Championship here.

We climbed just over 800m in 8km of fire road. None of it is steep, it's just a nice gradual climb.

The Grootbrak Grabadoo a few days ago was super fun! A good warmup for the mini Atta in a few weeks time.
