Spoted walking around Vergelegen Wine Farm! And this after the fires earlier in the year. Such great news (taken from the vergelegen wines FB page).

Really like that you can see the lights of the somerset west / helderberg basin in the background.

Love them! I hike and fish the Cape mountains in full hope to see one some day, but this far only found tracks. Once found their tracks covering my mtb tracks of the previous evening, in the Winterberge.

We have had one or two wolves moving in in our area as well.  Some locals are crapping themselves.  They have not been spotted yet but the have taken out a few sheep not too far from us.

There are also indications that wolves are moving about in the Walloon region here in Belgium.

As they're protected, farmers/hunters are prohibited from shooting/trapping them and any livestock losses are compensated for by the government.

My brother & I once free camped in the Baviaanskloof on an unsupported bike ride - one day into the kloof, find sleeping spot, next day back. No rain was forecast and we decided against taking a tent. Woke the next morning with some very fresh, very big cat spoor within a meter of our sleeping spot.

My thoughts exactly. Then again, half our town is already sh!tting themselves when I walk with my GSD (she is a fairly big bitch).

L is gonna clobber you if she hears you talking about her in that tone.... lol..  :whistling:

I've now seen caracal on Table Mountain on 3 separate occasions. Closest one was in lower Tokai, 50 m from the nearest houses. One above Vredehoek was stalking a francolin when we buzzed it on the mtb and messed up its' lunch plans. Closest to home was in Newlands picnic area.
