I actually had very little to do with it as he and my wife put it all together to what you see today. I bought the saddle and had some input on some small things like the scribe on the top tube. 
 

The frame itself is a mix of Columbus, HSS, life and Zona with a full carbon seat tube. 

Has hand built wheels also. 

That’s  kinda it I guess.

I simply love it that there are thinking creative people out there who can conceptualize a bike build like this. Not just a paint job, but a truly personal and meaningful work of art.

Certainly hoping for better luck than Mamil.

 

 

Very possible my next chance to use it will be at CTCT2023 .... the normal MTB events we do use boards on the bars.

Wanted to change the look of my bike and then this RS1 fell into my lap 😊 120mm travel (don't think I would go shorter) . I was really surprised how great this fork feels on the trails. 

little bit of engineering work done because I did not want odd hubs or be tied down to a specific fork/hub. 

PS. It needs some custom decals.

Looks great. What engineering work did you do for it to fit your Hope Hub? I agree this was a major drawback of the RS1 for me.

Once again, not strictly a cycling related purchase, but some here may be looking to purchase for cycling related purposes...

Recently acquired a Ricoh Theta Z1, to accompany the Insta360 OneX2 purchased late last year.

These cameras are competitors and excel in different areas, so the choice of weapon is largely up to the use case.

As an action camera, the Insta360 is probably the better bet with more weatherproof casing, on-board touch screen and superior video performance over the Ricoh. Plus it's half the cost and smaller.

So why even go for the Ricoh...

Image quality in poor lighting and better image stitching in my use case. As previously mentioned I use these cameras for progress capture and issue tracking on some of our construction sites. They are mounted to a hardhat, and are coupled with a smart software platform that stitches passive capture to create a virtual walk-through, automatically aligned to floorplans, previous captures, and 3D (BIM) models (nerdy nonsense).

So after 8 years on my trusted Scalpel that enjoyed many an upgrade during that time. Probably could have bought another two with the money spent. I was given a no brainer trade in at my LBS on the purchase of this beauty.

Switched over my crank and power meter, the Spez Saddle and the Riser Bars and boy she is a super machine. As comfy as can be, with very different handling.

Have subsequently change the rubber to something that rolls a little quicker and easier for the longer flatter rides.
