Mtb, or road bike makes no difference..i just always say, safety first. I have had people with bike racks and bikes on the back of the car coming past me on my bike at crazy speeds. Respect others and relax. Luckily we in coastal areas have a Sea view while driving 20km/h behind something slow. kosmonooit Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) Hate is such a strong word! What's the big deal about having to wait a few minutes for a bunch of people out doing a healthy activity? In many cases, single file is very dangerous for cyclists, especially with no verge, motorists give you no space. I wont ride on a road like that with my back to the traffic. The culture of driving here is all about me, don't get in my way. No, give way! Niemand kla as hulle teen 25km/h agter n trekker moet ry nie. Maar laat dit nou net n fiets wees teen 35km/ h Dan moan en kla hulle oor die fietsryers wat op die pad is.Die probleem is dat hulle weet as hulle in n trekker vasry, hulle geliefde ou karretjies moerrtoe sal wees.Mentaliteit van motorbestuurders in Afrika Sal nooit verander nie. Eldron Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Me - I'm gonna agree with the OP. It's just flippin rude to grab 7 of your mates and add a car to make a nice long 12m rolling road block then expect other motorists to respect you. Trucks, tractors, busses etc have a professional reason to be on the roads. Cycling is a pastime. The onus should be on the cyclists to not disrupt traffic (too much). Nobody knows the whole story here - perhaps the cyclists picked a route that had a nice wide yellow line 95% of the time and the OP took a pic of the 5% where the they blocked traffic - or the cyclists picked a route where 95% of the time they created a headache for other road user - who really knows. Generally I'm against cyclists taking over a whole lane and adding a safety car. The law prohibits me from passing other road users on a solid line.Number two. I had all the time in the world, but the black guy behind me that tried to pass me will not have any respect for these guys.Keep to the freaken law! I cycle to work every day if I can.
