Probably since he has had 2 failed attempts while hyping it up and saying how easy it would be for him? Just asking him to put his money where his mouth is so to speak. Easy to say something without having done it once

There is publicising it and then there is whatever Zweel has been doing... It seems to be somewhere right in the middle of p155ing people off and just making himself out as a P03ph0l (I'm trying to be polite here). 

 

Although Frail doesn't get nearly as big a response from people, we all respect what he does and have no objection to him publicising his rides beforehand. The opinions on this thread are very much directly aimed at the OP and not to the principle of what he is doing.

Ja I'd like understand that one too. The other thing I don't get is why he's taking flack for not completing the Everest. The OP has been very clear about his goal from the beginning: to do the fastest Everest in the world. If, by half way, he is starting to drift off the required pace, then it makes complete sense to stop. Everything after that is a sunken cost. Look up the sunken cost fallacy - it makes for interesting reading and you will probably see many every day examples that we fall into.

 

He's not trying to do an everest in any old time, and crossing the line once all hope of the record has gone out the window just to win the respect of a few hubbers would get him absolutely no closer to his goal. In fact it would just make him more tired. 

 

This is clearly his approach. If you are annoyed by it, why are you here, reading this?

It is my approach as well.

 

I too am only interested in doing the fastest Everest ever and for the same reasons I have given up 263 attempts. It is easy doing one, just not worthwhile doing it unless I can BE THE BEST EVA.

 

Ps. It is also why I dropped out of school - no point unless I could get like eleventy hundred distinctions, or stopped dating because I couldn't marry Michelle Pheiffer so what is the point, and I live in a hole in the ground because what is the point of buying a house if it can't be "Fallingwater" which is the only house worth owning...
