Then later on they state this.

 

A person must when in a public place, wear a cloth face

mask or a homemade item that covers the nose and mouth. or another appropriate

item to cover the nose and mouth.

 

So where does it give you the option?

Whenever I enter a trail, it has signposting up to say that it's "Private Property" and "You require a permit to access these trails"...

 

doesn't sound "Public" to me.

So where does it give you the option?

No, they don't open it to the public, it's open to permit holders, which grants you as the holder of said permit access to private property.

 

Public space is general access, where people, anyone, can freely move through. Places like beaches, parks, malls.

Quagga dont worry .... I have come to realise that way too many Hubbers either cant read, or simply dont want to read those bits that does not suit them .... much like a taxi driver and red robots ....

 

 

the irony is that on this very Hub we have heard from John and others about MUCH stricter rules at times during this crisis in Europe.  Somehow people are just looking for a "way out", rather than considering the larger health situation.

 

 

 

I am PRO getting the economy going !!  BUT, I am equally for responsible behaviour ..... seems I am part of a very small minority.

I can't remember how they were specified under L4, and don't think I've seen anything about them under new regs.

depends on the specific trails.  most trails will send out and email or do a facebook post on whether they're open or not.

THE FOLLOWING RESTRICTIONS WILL REMAIN IN PLACE:

• Personal care services where social distancing is not possible

• Hotels and accommodation for leisure

• Domestic air travel, except for essential work travel

• Conferences, events and gatherings

• Cinemas, theatres, museums and other entertainment venues

• Gyms and fitness centres

• Beaches, public parks, sports grounds and swimming pools

 

 

 

seems public parks remains closed, while many trails on private properties are open ....

One cool thing we have noticed at the shop is the number of neglected, old, unused adult and kids bikes that are being brought in with the vague instruction 'just make it rideable' ...

 

Some real classics, haven't seen so many 26" bikes in like forever!

 

More adults and kids on bikes, that's a win in anyone books I reckon [emoji41]

One cool thing we have noticed at the shop is the number of neglected, old, unused adult and kids bikes that are being brought in with the vague instruction 'just make it rideable' ...

 

Some real classics, haven't seen so many 26" bikes in like forever!

 

More adults and kids on bikes, that's a win in anyone books I reckon [emoji41]

I had a knock on the door the other day from my across the street neighbour. After some smalk talk she asked me "you ride bikes hey?". She then proceeds to ask please can I come and pump up her and he daughter's tyres (single mom and daughters)? So I go over and the bikes in the garage are in a terrible state - rusted chains, gears not shifting, flat spots on the tyres, v brakes rubbing, etc. Offered to give them a once over, nothing really new needed but tyres - just some maintenance.

 

Anyway, I see the two of them out on the bikes every morning when I leave for work. When I look around our estate I see allot of similar bikes that are seeing the light of day for the first time in a while.

 

Hopefully some of those people get bitten by the cycling bug and out onto the trails / roads more permanently.

My son owns Just Cycles, they moved from Meyersdal Mall (Alberton) to Rietvlei Zoo Farm just before the lockdown... I help out there occasionally.
