Since it’s Friday.

To all the people out there proudly sporting their Fox or whatever branded gear with a big logo on it, here’s my question.

Why did you pay +- R2500 for your riding kit to advertise the brand for free. You just turned yourself into a walking billboard.

I don’t do this with casual or riding kit... why are you?

The same is true for your car, or your bicycle etc..

You are advertising the brand of whatever product you have bought, irrespective of their cost, for free..

My car doesn’t have a massive Suzuki branding on it.

My bike is basically unbranded.

I’m referring to being a walking billboard for companies.

Why are you advertising Evil for free in your profile pic?

I buy the kit I think looks nice and is comfy. Personally that is subtly branded items for me, but if that is huge logos for someone else, go for it.

But to answer your questions, I am happy sporting a logo of a brand I support. I support them because they provide a product that suits my needs at a cost I am happy with. The same reason I am sure you tell everyone how awesome Evil is...

Geez. Isn't there enough going on in the world already?

Can't people just be anymore?

Because I can identify with a part of their msg they put out there. I wear Leatt because it is a SA brand, Endura because of Danny and 510 because they are lekker skoens. Also the stuff lasts almost for ever.

The same with my casual clothes altho most shirts are band shirts except for my Guerrilla Gravity shirts because everyone should be riding a GG.

Again I’m only referring to clothing here.

The same argument applies to everything. You support a brand because it speaks to you. You are therefore happy to advertise for them in return, whatever form that takes.

For some it is subtly branded, for others it is looking like they walked through a lumo paint factory explosion.

You would be singing a different tune if you actually had a brand of your own and people where buying it

I chose my   riding kit according to  if it is comfy, fits me nicely and if I like the look of it.  I wouldn't wear something that is comfy but I don't like the look of it but also I won't wear something that looks great but is not very comfy.

If the item is branded or not branded is immaterial to my choice so I have a variety if I think about it.  However I probably stick to the same brands cos I have found them nice so then tend to buy the same brand again, whether it's a popular brand or not is not the deciding factor.
