@ Admin and yee who know

Is there a timeframe.....When are these changes going to start happening, I.e. the culling of toxic threads?

We're aiming for next week but its dependant on other work being completed first.

exactly the thing that  would be nice to discuss amongst mature(ish) individuals here, without the toxic remarks that can be found on twitter/facebook/et.al.

Surely an article like this can be classified as chit chat?
It doesn't need it's own thread, but rather something that is discussed today, and everyone moves onto the next discussion point.

Matt specifically mentioned that if it appears in news24 it is not to be discussed here. :(

if it's a News24 story (or similar) which you can no longer comment on there, Bike Hub isn't the place for commentary either.

I clearly didn't read that bit ????

Not that it worries me. I'm mostly here for cycling - to learn a bit and share some knowledge and experience.

Good to see a decision being made and movement in some kind of direction.

What will this mean for “Off Topic” threads which are not toxic and never have been, for example:

Chit chat - TV shows, Car porn, Aviation fans, I have an idea for another thread..... etc?

All gone, did you not read the notice?

It’s been in the aviation thread since yesterday

Not visiting news24 because their cookie policy, it’s either accept all or don’t read… so I’m not reading.

Thanks for the clarity Matt, should have been a bit cleared from the onset, there would have been less butt-hurt, or maybe not.

  • No politics
  • No religion
  • No current affairs
  • And any similar themed content

First two I can get behind completely, the other two are open to interpretation. Guys are stressing that their woodworking discussions are next in the firing line...

Yeah man, I fully agree, the first two topics can and probably should go. They are too polarizing by nature.

Honestly I would be super sad about the woodwork thread if that went, I have made some good friends through those discussions.

Happy to see politics, religion, and current affairs go.

It causes friction and always leads to heated arguments that really get ugly.

Keep the threads with good vibes. Hobbies, tech, etc. I feel that it brings a community of cyclists together like Rocket-Boy said.

Might I suggest you guys / ladies both first correct the spelling and grammar of the last 6 years users posts BEFORE culling the topics please?

If you think it's bad here, turn on the news, people are killing each other in masses, daily, about these things. John's imagine comes to mind.
