Hey man - when you have a daughter who keeps taking Dads bottles to drink her juice from, you use what you can find   ^_^

Fun gaalens

But it was a sufferfest of note. Been doing some hard riding the past week, and had no legs today, it was a misery. post-24416-1419441244,6096.jpg

Later on while riding the oom piet section just below nguni loop I almost rode over this "stick" swerved last minute and as I passed it reared...a real big motherf.... I crapped my pants.

Coming up Mooidraai Climb (R330).

for the that stay far, this is the last technical climb of the Transbaviaans, by this time most don't even remember the ride, it's within the last 20km of the TransB, otherwise a regular ride/climb for the Jbay riders, and our values that come and play here over December.

I am confused. Can't remember a single meter of technical riding on the whole transbaviaans route? It is all open gravel road or at the worst jeep track.

Technical in comparison to smooth gravel road clear keep track.

This is a 100m climb over a 1000m's, over a very loose rocky road/sand sections, loose fist size stones.

As said, in comparison to a jeep track/district road.

I have done that climb 10 times this holiday. IMHO it qualifies as a technical climb. You have the drop off on the one side, loose rocks and loose deep sand. I don't find the climb very hard, its short and very steep. The challenge lies in keeping it upright. I have seen numerous holiday riders pushing bikes up that climb due to the steepness and the fear of going over the edge because of the loose rocks and sand. Then there is also the rutted areas due to water erosion.
