I think I may have had a slightly different loaner set initially but these are the wheels that I ordered with the bike - new rubber, Panaracer 50s - bit louder on tar but seriously capable off road

It must be the volume of the 50s that give the illusion the rim profile is also bigger.

Bike looks hot!

 

With those Panaracer`s  you will manage the gravel roads and some single track in the Northern Cape.

Ha, I live right there. I still don't know what the actual road name is because from day one the lady and I called it "Italian Road" - it looks like tuscany or somewhere similar.  

"Where do you want to ride today, Jonkershoek? Italian Road?"

it's the addition of the olive trees, they transform the classic cape dutch walls.  I know it as Upper Blaauwklippen, who knows if that's the right name though.

went outside with my normal long T under short cycling top, got the bike out the garage and then went back in to put on my cycling jacket and a buff to filter the cold air. At a few points during the ride I felt I could have put my leg warmers on, but I think that may be over kill.

Cool ride this morning to Klein Brak beach and back.

 

Want to do a longer one tomorrow but it's our anniversary and I might never hear the end if I do. Will a early 06h00 coffee and rusks work as a deal for going to cycle?
