Nice late start .... hoping to miss the worst bite of the morning air ... :whistling:  For my sins I missed out on what is borderline early "berg winds"  (nice hot Northerly winds typically in August).  Okay, more of a very light breeze than a proper Cape Town wind.

Yet another PERFECT day for cycling in the Western Cape

The trails are in better nick than the tar roads ....

Such a "weird" time on the trails .... on the one side the vineyards attest to the passing of autumn and the onset of winter.  And then the next moment the lush new growth of the wheat is a rich deep green ....

The way the table in the foreground blends into the background simply scrambles my perspective and my brain into seeing your laptop as if it is HUGE.????

Wide angle lens.

That table belongs in the woodworking section.

During lockdown I needed a table for my laptop whilst riding, but I needed it to double as an extra table under the lapa.

We had these steel table legs and frame lying around, so I took a piece of MDF and put probably about 6 coats of varnish on it until it stopped soaking it up and gave a glossy finish.

So I did a double loop of koeberg road to malanshoogte and up vissershok then through D'urbanvale.  the idea was to get my mind right and to train my mind for long distance riding.  was great. loved it.  Did the glengarry hill on the way home just to drive the fact home that my legs are capable of much more than what my mind tells them they are.

Ahem.

Seeing as I have some popcorn left over from the classifieds wheels size issue, can we discuss that white pant?

my bike took me from Conters parking to the bottom of the Cobra at Hoogekraal and no further. Bust deraileur. It was a long walk back, but luckily there are some good people in the world.

Thanks to Julian Louw's (Giant Durbanville) wife (sorry never got your name) who stopped at the 4-way stop at the bottom of Vissershok hill and piled me and my bike into her car and gave me a lift back to Conters.
