Old train bridge in Harties, we normally ride in groups of 4+. beautiful scenery and some great roads to ride on.

Agree, some very nice riding around there, I used to frequent that bridge when still staying in Harties more than 10 years ago, thats why I recognized it.

The new start is a little soft but not muddy at all and rest is brilliant. The finish is excellent, although I was rolling down it so slowly. Fell on the other side of twin towers , so a fair pedal back. Now you have to follow the red arrows in and out.

Well worth the trip 👍

What type of pedal-edge caused that depth of cut,Pikey? Keen to learn, I no longer have much ‘natural’ skin over my shins, that pedal cut looks brutal?!

Xtr Shimano spd 🤷🏻‍♂️ . Luckily I wasn’t riding some of those brutal flat pedals. For some reason ( think I  was trying to protect the bike ) when the front end washed I held onto the handlebar with one hand and that stopped the bike from just sliding away from me ,instead, I stayed under the bike and the back end just spun around.

At least that’s what I think happened. It wasn’t the ground or a rock as I slid on my ass / hip.  Just got unlucky I guess.

Past the somewhat neglected and overgrown UCT jumps in my backyard.

Covid, lockdowns, students studying remotely, the big fires and the rock hard clay of summer, all contributed to the dilapidated and overgrown state of the jumps, but that's all good, because I now have a solid excuse for not riding them and I don't have to admit what the real reason is, namely that they grew too big and scary for me over the years.

Nice short coffee ride.  Even the wild life joined in the fun ...

Coffee at Bloemendal .... friend came past .... so we just had to do one quick lap of Protea corridor and Traverse.  So the short ride turned into a 41km 31-degree ride ....  LEKKER

Seriously, those two horses (Welsh pony) look very much like the ones I once owned.  Gelding upfront and a young filly which was too young to ride at the time but both grew up together.  Tame as heck! Takes me back.  (could be mistaken though?)

They are very tame.

As I moved about taking photos they just followed with their heads.
