Trails were a muddy mess on Saturday.  We were at Bloemendal with youngster, for her first ride on the B-Fever pump track.  LOADS of fun .... and now loads of mud in my driveway .....    :whistling:

With rain predicted from early afternoon on Sunday, and for the whole week, I went out for nice ride on Sunday morning.  Going over the N1 I was greeted by the most beautiful morning !

Temperature hovering around 10 degree Celsius.  NO wind.  Simply a brilliant morning to be on a bike !  Past Durbanville race course there was the slightest of Northerly breeze picking up, and a DARK rim over the sea !!  I pushed on to Meerendal, heading straight into the route.  To be greeted with the cleanest air and most spectacular play of colours ....

By the time I got to Burry Stander the sun was hiding behind some clouds .... and the wind was cutting through all the layers of clothing .....  Still breathtaking views.  :w00t:

Completed the full loop of Meerendal, and then stopped for a cuppaccino .... by now it was properly cold !!  Garmin says the temperature was 13 degrees, but Garmin did not feel that wind cutting through everything ....  Leaving Meerendal you actually had to pedal down the hill to stay warm.  At least this also meant that I could put in a bit more effort, without over heating ....

Very glad for the opportunity to have such a nice ride, amidst all the rain we have been having.  Minimal mud on the bike, as it was possible to ride around 98% of it on the trails.  Sadly should also mention that the top dam at Meerendal is still bone dry !!  Not a drop of water in it.  The water level in the bottom dam is still VERY low.  The "island" is still linked to the grass fields ...  We need a LOT more rain !!

The weather was not nice last Saturday but I got so bored in the afternoon I took a chance between showers to go for a ride.

Came home wet and had a bit of a wrough feverish night realizing once again it's not a great idea to go riding when you haven't quite shaken the cold/flu completely. 2162c2bb0330d4a6c52e21166a08d022.jpgcff8d1181b928e6c6f60f283c2a50e70.jpg83cef585f21fd195aba732a98889f53c.jpgd1a5b2d7ae31c2282768c90c9160e191.jpg1252affcc17a65359722a2d4c5ed48bd.jpg
