Rode Jonkers for the first time in a while this weekend.  Stoked to see the full Top to Bottom line of the old Double Black is open again (jumps not built yet but rest is there).  Gave it a bash, it's dry and drifty.

Then some Oom Hansie jumps and Flow.

Thought it was Autumn so imagine my surprise when halfway into my ride I ascend the Firehut climb in mid-thirties temperatures.

Needless to say, near heat-stroke combined with a completely botched setup on my new Ohlins (got my rebound confused and ran it super fast) and a mild cross-wind resulted in a one-way ticket to destination F*cked.  Miraculously only my body got wrecked.  Bike is fine #priorities

Still, Jonkershoek though.

Odendaal Rd : Member's Corridor : Hillcrest : Bloemslang : Bloemendal : Majik

Distance: 28.65km

Elev Gain: 661m

Avg Speed: 16.3kph

Calories: 869 C

"Oooh, this is going to be interesting!"

Early start to a cold, wet morning. Made coffee and toast with jam and peanut butter and off I went to my friend's house. After debating wherever we should take rain jackets we took them. Good call from my friend because that come in handy later on...

Traffic was moderate going through Durbanville to the Odendaal climb. Just before the Hillcrest climb, it started to rain like in rain-rain. The wind did not help much too. And then it was Bloemslang... More like Waterslang. Wow, it was like a completely different track (challenging, yet scary) with our bikes constantly looking for grip. Must admit was impressed with the Ikon's, I know this is not its territory but it was up for the test.

Never was I glad to come back home to take a shower. We were covered and mud and soaking wet. Unfortunately, the bike needs a wash now.

Rode my red hot Italian "girlfriend" to work this morning. That'll teach the wife to sleep late while I have to get up early to go to work. I won't tell her that I park the girlfriend in the storage under the staircase while at work.

you PORK your girlfriend under the staircase?

Helderberg never disappoints.

After neglecting the trail Bike for a while I decided to treat it and work out my frustrations. Went to the mast at the top and enjoyed the descending so much that I actually back tracked twice to get some alternative down lines in as well instead of threading a long descent down. And then a couple of laps of the pump track to end it off with to make sure the legs are properly jelly.
