Spent the majority of yesterday afternoon getting my on-one ready for S2C. It has been standing for 5 months, so I redid tubeless.

Put a shock on the front, had to transplant brakes, install a cluster and Derailleur and new chain.

Got a really wide rapide bar on, and a short stem.

Took her for a 45k shakedown, and it's all good.

Saw your pic on Twitter aswell and almost thought you hadn't turned it back to SS mode after 3 Towers last year. [emoji6]

What shock is that, I'm also looking for a 29er air with straight steerer but they are ridiculously rare and ridiculously expensive. Problem is my bike is probably worth R4-5k and the available shocks are almost the same price. [emoji20]

Hi Bennie, have you had a look at options from SR Suntour? They are much cheaper than the bigger names and ain't bad at all.

I have actually asked around at one lbs here in George, they had one which they sold for R2750,00. That price is not too bad but every time I have the mula they don't have the shock and when I don't have the mula they have stock [emoji85]

It was SS for a short while after 3 towers and then I planted my face.

It's a very old fox of some kind, lowers have been powder coated. Still in very good condition.

You can have a look at Chain Reaction, they have a few suntour options, but like you say, could get expensive.

10.75kms Up and 10.75 kms down, just 2 take a picture...

Route: Start in Wellington at HHS, Perdeskoen Deel 1, Bealah Accent to the cable towers, up white road to Du Toits kloof. Same way down.
