Found this "plaaswinkel" 115 km into our ride today. The Aunty gave me the best slice of chocolate cake that I have ever tasted.

Tannie! Ek like jou kwaai!

Isnt this what it is all about okes? Riding your bike and discovering places that you didnt even know existed.

If ever ( I doubt you ever will) you pass through Soutpan. Pay this little shop a visit. It is well worth it!

As much as we like to hammer Escom, the one good thing I can say about them is the way they restored their land surrounding Koeberg. It used to be a totally alien infested sterile wasteland in terms of biodiversity. Now it is an absolute joy to see the indigenous fynbos plants and animals thrive. Not just the bigger things like the antelope, but also the birds and smaller animals. It is particularly good to see how the natural wetlands returned after eradication of the Port Jackson. I suppose it all worked out because there was no money big enough to be skimmed from that particular conservation project.

Absolutely, saw the first ever wildebeest there today. Not sure if they are purposefully introducing new species but the zebra and Elland are breeding nicely and the springbok seem to be happy too.

Contermanskloof, for the latest round of the WP Gravity Enduro. 4 stages on BRILLIANT trails, with lekker mates, made for an amazing day out. Started off at 9h30 and got to the end at 13h00. Yes, that's a long time, but the format of Enduro sometimes means waiting for your slot to plummet down the trails.

Legs have been feeling SUPER *** this past week, so I was just trying to survive today's event without blowing up. Managed to keep going strong, when on Friday arvie I couldn't even do a simple climb without stopping twice. Thought I was harbouring a cold or something, but today proved that I wasn't. Was just kaaaaak.

Today, though, was bloody brilliant.

You guys came past us like we were looking for parking on Chappies. The drag up to Smits from Scarborough was tough in the South Easter. Yoh!
