Andreas_187 Posted June 29, 2020 Share Yup. Yup. Yes. here was some issues with the build quality (not bike bu the people who assembled it), and they obviously used parts from different groupsets to make up mine. One thing was that they took a compact Dura Ace groupset and put on a standard chain rings from somewhere else (I didnt want a compact crank but that seemed to be only groupo in stock) in doing so they did not tighten the spider bolts. One came loose and scratched the frame by the chain stay to the carbon. The crank was obviously not new either as it had scuff marks. It was a just a bad build, there were some other issues. Took it up the owners of the shop, they wanted nothing to do with it. Was not worth moaning about it here as people who complain about bike shops always end up being the the ones in the wrong according to the Hub, not the guys who **** up a R120k bike. Having said that, a full rebuild by Pearson Cycles has made the world of difference and its running like butter.Glad to hear it wasn't the bike, I'm waiting for mine to arrive. Luckily I'm assembling it myself. Patchelicious

CAAD4 Posted June 30, 2020 Share Congrats Judd. A Synapse is such a sensible buy. When I bought mine over 10 years ago, I was told that the men's carbon version had been discontinued locally, as they were not selling, due to their relaxed geometry. The minute someone said, "It's not racing geometry", people walked away, because they wanted to "race". Other brand importers eventually saw the light and started bringing in comfortable bikes too. CAAD4 Posted June 30, 2020 Share But I was also comfortable, before bike fits, with R1000 stems became fashionable. Patchelicious and Hairy
awesme Posted June 30, 2020 Share As Pat from Pyga says... he loves designing bikes that’s fun to ride all day, or give it to a top of the crop racer and you have a podium winner at the same time.In the end get yourself into something that will make you smile doing what you love. Was one of the things that stood out for me on the bike (the geometry). I'm no where near a age group podium finisher, and with two prolapsed disks in my back, I thought it was a good choice.
