WTF happened to DIB/First option on The Hub!

Is anyone else having this issue? You see an ad. You want the item. You contact the seller/ Huber. You are in the process, fitting, verifying and whatnot. The sale is practically steeled. You send final details, meeting to fit, and are told "SORRY ITS SOLD". WTF.

What happened to the integrity of The Hub and it's Hubers?

When did all the underhanded shenanigans begin?

Fkg bullsh!t.

or you get, "they broke into my garage and stole it" after trying for 2 weeks to get payment details sorted.

... and if the person calling 'dibs" doesn't come through and the seller loses a buyer with money in hand?

Perhaps a small deposit to guarantee the purchase might work and I often offer it if I know it is an item likely to go quickly or before I can maybe get to that part of town.

lol - DIBS went out the window long ago... Had a couple items where I've 'Dibs' the item and arranged a meeting after work only to get a call later in the afternoon that the item is now sold.

Unless you have cash in hand and can meet a seller immediately you are up the creek.

Or you get someone telling you dibs and then just doesn't bother letting you know that they not interested anymore...

Someone begged me to hold an item for them for a week, only for me never to hear from again, lucky for me that the second guy interested was still interested a week later....

First one to pay gets the item, i'm not interested in Dibs....

so it's NOT just me. The Hubers have become part of the Inkantla debacle!

I'm so sick of it! I don't sit at home waiting to run to the sellers house. Just because someone else can get there sooner, doesn't void the first dibs buyer!

Agree that the first person to pay gets the goods BUT if the buyer has already made arrangements to collect and pay in cash and the seller then still goes ahead and sells to someone else is just plain BS! It's not calling Dibs, the sale has already been agreed to and it's just a matter of collecting and paying

Neither should the seller wait around for the buyer if there is one on hand. Regarding the stolen bike I think I know who he is referring to and the bike was indeed stolen and the buyer left with no bike or money.

Void the dibs?

Are you seriously suggesting someone lose a sale because some random person wrote dips on an internet forum?

Just had a very pleasant exchange with a hubber in CT where I just could not get through to him for a week or two and he held onto his word and took my word that the deal would go through.

All in all a good deal.

Was looking for the add now to give a positive comment on his sellers profile, but I see it has been removed.

Andries, if you are reading this please let me know the add no. and I can make the appropriate rating for you.
