All the way up to the Blyderivierspoort dam this morning. Helps to have the right tool for the job ... For all those 'mechanical discs are useless' naysayers, the descent from there is reasonably tricky, twisty and fast and they worked a treat. No doubt though that setting them up properly is crucial!a2c95a4fb82de16f7f0034205df5d2f2.jpg

Jumped on the bike. Rode to gym, did a 1 hour legs workout with my trainer. Got onto the bike and did a 3 hour night ride.

Was excellent!

Saturday was the Kempston's Thomas River MTB Challenge.

The route has been taken over by 2 keen mtb'ers for the last few years, and this years route was the best ever. Perfect mix of gravel, jeep track and single track.

JG and Erik have an awesome route. I did the 60km, which turned out to be 57km.

Some of the singletrack, it was soo much fun

Erik's bike and his bridge, very rustic, but it works

The one waterpoint that I was scared of, at 1/2 way, they had a punch, that I didn't have, but Erik the trailbuilder had a few shots, and he said it made his lips numb  , the wattle cutters waterpoint

few more from my uk trip (was on instagram already for those that follow there)

this red bike was the biggest piece of **** I've ever ridden. Sadly Ledbury seems to have really cool mountain bike trails, but since I couldn't rent a mtb I stuck to exploring the town on this piece of ****, but I did find some pretty country roads. The place that does the rental was telling me how the council insists that even maps of cycle routes have to be charged for to make money - how sad is that.

Bassano del Grappa to Marostica via Valrovina & Tortima. Possibly the best road ride of my life.
