I don't have the luxury of being able to ride during the day (weekday), before/during/after COVID, so it's usually the IDT for me. During the initial phases of lockdown, I used Rouvy, and tried a few virtual routes, then downloaded interesting routes and rode those. Then tried Zwift for 2 months, before calling it a day and seeing where things take me. After a full week (7 days) off the bike, I got back on Rouvy and decided to ride routes that are somewhat different... yeah, I know it's on an IDT, but my little make believe world is the best I'll get, for now.

Yesterday I did a 7Km route around the Drielandenpunt (where Holland, Belguim and Germany meet. Nothing special. Today it was from Mont Saint Martin (France) into Belgium, through the southern part of Luxembourg and then finishing off the final 2Km riding through Germany and back into France. The photo below (Google Street view) shows the final 2Km across the Moselle river into Germany, then right and into France. I also discovered a town on the Luxembourg side of the river is called Schengen (the VISA us Souf Afreekuns have to apply for when visiting these countries).

55.11 Km

2:04:12 Ride time

474m Elevation gain

4 countries in one ride.

Hopefully someone will get to do this real ride one day.

I did not post here for a while.  I for some stupid reason have not been taking too many pics while riding lately. But allas I took some yesterday again.

I might have said it earlier this year but I made it my mission this year to find and ride roads that I have not ridden before in my area and to date I have not been dissappointed.  It is amazing what I have found all in a 25 - 30 km radius from my home.  Our cycling club in the mean time have started a Strava Cup, where we have setup strava segments that we will compete on within our club.  So every week at the moment we are getting new segments and last night I went to scout a new segment on a road that I have never been on before.  Here is a climb near the town of Bad Tölz which is 3,36 km at an avg gradient of 5% but spikes up to 13% and certain points.

That's so interesting! It turns out that's the town where the Schengen agreement was signed. I did not know that.
