Brilliant. Already booked accommodation for Easter Weekend. Definitely going to tackle the 37km.

Two segments that I definitely want to hit is The Bachelor and Isikhova. Hopefully dry trails this time.

Both excellent.

Isikhova is where I saw my naught. It should be ridden on repeat, so one can learn the trail, as it has numerous jumps, that on my skill level can not be ridden blindly. After the rocky drop, it’s just a rollercoaster of awesomeness.

The 37 posted on Trailforks ( via the club’s website) takes one on some unkept sections as well, there was a section through some saplings that was kinda difficult to keep on the trail, with a down section that forms part of the trailrun route. I had a buttclencher of note there as I caught a fallen branch wrong, and it made the branch roll out under both wheels at the same time in a corner...

Did you run into any of those fern looking plants that grow into the trail and turns out belongs to the devil himself?

I went up to the Lebanon fire tower one afternoon and descended through Gauntlet, Sahara, and Voodoo Lounge. Then from the top (as far as my legs could go) I went down Windsong. More of them there.

By the time I got back to the club both my arms and legs were bleeding and my shirt was looking less than ideal.

Sorry about your crash man. You didn't run out of talent from the sounds of it. More like ran out of bike.

Looks lekka warm

How do u attach to your bars and then "hide" the GoPro stick in the film?

Most of the footage is shot with the GoPro MAX 360 cam, the software stitches the two clips into one, the camera is mounted perpendicular to the selfie stick which is thin and fits into the border between the two images and cut out during stitching...heapsa voodoo magic...other random clips are with the GoPro 9 and Max Mod lens...which is actually a single lens from the Max fitted to the GoPro 9

Edit: I hold onto the selfie stick so I can move it around to get different angles..then in Final Cut Pro, you reframe the clip ie chose which view from the 360 footage you want to see, and then keyframe it and move the image around thusly!

Also last ride for me, one that takes me passed my goal distance for the year. One more run later to close out the year.

As per my post on my ride IG feed, with a view like this, who needs to wait for 23:59:59 in your lounge/back yard to celebrate the New Year, when this will do.

Final ride for the year, at Bloemendal.

BIG thanks to the farmers and the club for all these stunning trails.

Maritz made two new friends on the pump track .... and they started riding that pump track !!!

The kid's parents commented about how their spirits lifted, and how the kids miss the play time ...

BEST way to wrap up the year.

Looking forward to 2021, and a time when we can safely leave our masks at home ....
