Where has your bike taken you today?

You know that time when you go to bed and you struggle to sleep because you're super eager to go ride a line you've not been to before? Then you wake up super early and get everything sorted and load it all up before hitting the road for an hour's drive.

On the way there you're going through a mental checklist of your skillset making sure you get the most of the shuttle day at Avondale.

You pull up and find your buddies all gearing up and ready to have a blast of a day.

You unpack your stuff and do the bike check to make sure all is as it should be, and then you mosey on over to your gear. You grab the helmet and jersey, your gloves and socks are check.

And that is when you realise your shoes are still where you left them last time.

In your closet.

at home.

an hour's drive away.

So, you fling all your stuff back into your car and drive home quietly raging all the way there, because fish slops and Spank Spike's don't go together so well on a flow line.

So, where did my bike take me today? Nowhere. But it managed to rob me of 2 hours and half a tank of diesel in the process of doing boggerol.

I did the Peregrine, Highlands, Salandra, Karwyderskraal trip. Sunny and hot. Pro tip: Don't do the Karwyderskraal gravel road at 13:30 in the afternoon. The pic was taken at the top of Highlands, looking back towards Grabouw with Sir Lowry's in the background.
