Not sure about that, if you do crash, your bar will take some wild swings which means the Garmin mount will connect with the frame or steer tube and likely snap.

I do agree with your thought if the out front mounting being vulnerable as well which is why I mount mine on the stem ... if to short you can get the top caps with mount.

Agree, I had my Garmin mounted there too, until I fell, snapped it right off

always look forward to your photo posts of your weeknd  on a Monday morning. Seems like you just always riding in a picture skew part of the world or you are a damned good photographer

My 530 case broke, or then the mounting brackets, from a very minor incident, mounted out front.

 

I am back to mounting the Garmin on the stem.

Broke arm when I was 4 months old, DJR. So, sitting lekka skeef in the saddle with my body geometry. Doing my daily yoghurt on the yoga mat to stay aligned, supple and loose.
