I love riding in the evenings after dark.....then there's no one around to see how I suffer.

And also no one to discriminate against my sock length.

This ones especially for you Ossie NL .[emoji6] 5febb0bb0dcede392a424e1d1c0371dd.jpg6baad14b69e2eec42d18886846625bef.jpg

Nice, like a good response.

Roadies are know for their love for longer socks but I actually find them useful on the trails as I find they protect area above the ankle from thorns and shrubs

Hermanus trails.

Maritz is 5 years and 10 months old .... he has done multiple stints at Meerendal adding up to 10km on a day .... but never done a "single" 12km trail ....

Dropped off my wife at Plaaskombuis - that is the halfway point for this trail - drove to the start, paid, did the paperwork, and then set off on his first "long trail" ....

He was really looking forward to the long bridges -

Heading out there are a number of long climbs (well long and steep for these young legs) -

But so many stunning views along the trail !!

Fortunately less hills on the return trip, this one he litterally jogged up -

So many nice covered sections inside the woods .... (lighting does not make for nice photos) -

Back at the start he was promptly onto the mini circuit ..... kept going until I reminded him we need to go pick up my wife ..... Bene is nog swak vir die bulte, maar die man het n LANG asem !!

How else could we ever wrap up such a stunning day -

post-110956-0-34261000-1494091395_thumb.jpg

6km first stint - 1 hour 20 minutes .. including stops for photos, drinks and sweets ....

6,5km return trip - 1 hour 10 minutes, again all inclusive.

and YES, hardly left Hermanus and he was FAST asleep all the way to Bellville  :whistling:
