Your ability to find beer bottles is uncanny .... you sure they're not in your bottle cages ...?? ;)

Like I said before it's the 'souf' bru ... They are littered all over the place [emoji6]

Left home at sunrise, and was greeted with this as I crossed the N1

My legs felt okay .... so instead of the normal St Johns gate to the Traverse I carried on .... and still the magnificent sunrise on the right ...

Halfway up the first climb at Meerendal .... nice 13km warm-up lap before getting to the trails

Looking back at the Mine-shaft.  The colours were simply magnificent !!

Not sure what the heck possessed me .... as if this ride was not going to be long enough, I attempted the Dorstberg cheat. .... did not want to burn my matches too early, so I walked the last 50m

To the brave souls (with the strong legs) .... coming down from Dorstberg (no I did not go to the top)

Time for a light breakfast and a cappuccino ....

post-110956-0-53666900-1558872423_thumb.jpg

Leaving Meerendal a few heavy rain drops were falling, and the sky was even darker ..... But the "rain" only lasted a minute.  At least now I was riding with the brisk Northern breeze ....

On the way back I had a rush of blood to the head .... up and up and up Odendaal, and into the Traverse.  The view from the top never dissapoints !!

A second cappuccino at Bloemendal, and then the Protea corridor ...  That little forest at D'Aria is a photographers heaven !!  :w00t:

post-110956-0-45578600-1558872575_thumb.jpg

At the end of the Protea corridor I was greeted by this view

post-110956-0-51353200-1558872674_thumb.jpg

On the way home I realised I had almost covered 50km, and almost climbed 800m .... "almost" was NOT an option !!  And so I added a couple of detours, and a few more hills.  Actually turned around on top of the Blomtuin Suikerbossie and re-did it   ...  just to make sure I reached the 800m climb.

For me this ride represents a milestone in my journey to recovery.

A little post spinning spin yesterday at Tokai. Always fun. The pines are making a stunning return and the wattle is so thick we can start calling it Tokai Forest again.

Yeah, it's SUPER thick up there at the moment. I like it. Hopefully it'll help improve the soil up there from what the fire left behind. Not sure if that will happen tho.

Did a relaxed Worcester - Rawsonville loop this morning going out on Nekkies road and coming back in to town on the railway service road via Goudini station.

Was shocked when I uploaded my ride to Strava and realized my last ride was on the 14th. That means that I've gone beyond "weekend warrior" and I'm now more of a "fortnight warrior".[emoji16]
