  1. Ordered this from Cyckit in New Zealand. You can drop them a mail with the details of your saddle and they will send the correct one. I have Bontrager saddles on my road bikes and just swop between the two. It takes one screw to hold it on place and won't move. You also get three different container sizes so you can swop out depending on what you need for the day. It's a solid piece of kit and definitely won't damage your bibs.

    Hi All,

Not been here for a while but as I got hit by a Mercedes, it looks like my last Cannodale is probably a write off.

I dont see any other topics discussing the latest Dale road bikes.

I see everything has gone integrated etc so slamming the stem is a little harder and they no longer do the spider crank.

I am liking this a little more than the SL8 where I think the headtube is a little bulbous ish.

In terms of power meter - suggestions?

Any other suggestions for a new bike in the R150k range inc power meter and wheels.

Keep an eye on the price at Sigma Sports.

Looks like if they will deliver to South Africa.

I buy 90% of my cycling goods from them. This is my latest purchase.

I struggled to keep up with Zwift’s pace partner, D. Maria, (2.2W/Kg) today, despite riding at, and above, 3.5W/Kg for the first 10-mins. Does riding a TT bike make a difference when trying to do a group ride.

Promptly turn left and rode by myself for the rest of the hour.

Yes. You have no drafting effect when on a TT Bike.

I would also like to try before I buy.  A couple of reviews complain that the audible volume is too low.  As my hearing is impaired I would really have to test.

I use the Varia with my Edge 530 as well as my Wahoo Roam. The warnings on both units are pretty loud. So much so that some of the other riders in the group also rely on it as a warning for cars behind us. Kudos to Garmin for making the software available to other manufaturers to integrate with their head units.

That’s a brave ride in the current temps ....kudos dude . I need to harden up when I get back and keep pedalling.

It is my first winter on this muddy island🏝️. Base layers, shoe covers and winter gloves makes the rides more pleasant. It also helps if there is a group waiting for you. Its very tempting to stay in bed on these cold mornings.

  6. I moved to the UK in April. Booked on Emirates as they seem to give the best allowance on weight. I paid for an extra 23kg's and packed my bike shoes, helmet and a few other things in the bike box. Get a hard case box like scicon if you can. I had my box wrapped at OR Tambo but it still got badly scratched. I arrived at Manchester and went through without any questions asked. I shipped my other bikes, trainer and tools with our home contents and it arrived in the UK last week. I was told that it can take up to 8 weeks before it gets delivered to my house.

  7. The CAAD 8 is probably one of the lightest alu frames that you can get.  I bought one when I got back into cycling, and then upgraded parts I bought on the Hub. 10 Speed 105 and Mavic wheels. It is also a very good bike for long distances. When I upgraded bikes this one went onto the trainer. I'm sure you can find the parts you need in the classifieds and have your bike ready in time.

  8. Been using my Wahoo ELEMNT for 3 years without any issues. Everything just integrates seamlessly, power meter, HRM, cadence sensor. Setup from your phone is very easy. My only issue ever was that my Garmin Varia rear radar couldn't connect, so I had to use the separate display unit. But when Garmin increased the Varia's compatibility to work with other devices it solved that problem and i can now get all the information on the display of my Wahoo. It even beeps when detecting a car. I have just ordered the new Varia radar but I am sticking with my ELEMNT.
