Finally found some Lake MTB shoes in my size and colour locally.

Initial feelings wearing them (not riding) they feel comfortable, hoping they will be a bit more comfortable for my toes compared to my current shoes.

now that this epic build is done you can hopefully spare some cents and fix the water damage on that wall of yours ????

No way, that is actually damn birds pecking the wall, I think they after something in the wall or paint, so I have no given up on trying to keep them away.

And more money for bike stuff ????

Got the same shoes, sooooo comfy! Tempted by the new CX201 for the road, supposed to help for my flat feet and wide toes

No idea, will weigh it this weekend.  Not going to be light though, the wheels are burly (though did come in at 1.89kg's, but with the 2.6 tyres and 150ml's of sealant in them, they are not light).  The bike was built more as a budget build, but still ended up spending more than I wanted to, our hobby has become very expensive.

I must say though, I'm very impressed with the quality of the new Deore components, average Joe like me does not really need XT, the Deore stuff is great.

Please keep us updated on the ride.

I have my eye on one of those frames.

Will however only happen later in the year or early next year.

Ps referring to the Rapide Tigre frame and build.
