Afternoon Guys.

So yesterday whilst on my training ride, I was riding with 5 other cycling friends, Planned on a nice long ride around the coast etc which ended up being cut VERY VERY short due to a snapped spoke in Lakeside, and then to make things worse, on my way home, luckily only about 1km from my house, ANOTHER spoke decided it was his time to go and also snapped, BOTH in my rear wheel...

ANYWAY back to the point of this topic, whist riding through Lakeside, we were doing about 30km/h or so in the direction of Muizenberg, I noticed a tall(6ft) white mail, with glasses, khaki shorts, a button up shirt and blue Asics running shoes with orange laces on the pavement on our left hand side about 50 metres ahead, as we got closer I noticed the guy was right on the edge of the pavement so I moved over to my right thinking this guy might possibly slip into the gutter or something(anything can happen), anyway I managed to pass the guy who was right at the edge of the pavement, then a couple seconds later, I heard 1 of the other guys who was about 10m or so behind me shouting profanities and as I looked back, he was shouting and waving at the guy who had been on the pavement. I slowed down to ask him what happened and he said the guy had put his arm out in an attempt to push him from his bike but he managed to get out the way, I asked if we should go back to confront the guy, and my mate, being very churchly, decided against it. Then just further up the road opposite where the old Fire station was just before the incline into Muizenberg, my spoke snapped which forced me to turn back and head home.

NOW IT GETS INTERESTING.

On my way back, as I approached the robot(left turn goes to Ou Kaaps direction, the rd name slips my mind) The SAME guy was on the pavement so I chose to steer well clear of this guy, he then walked into the road with his hand holding his nuts coming towards me, I managed to get around him safely and when I had to stop at the red robot, I turned around to have a few choice words with him, I then just saw the dude holding/playing with his "package" saying "hey man I just wana have fun"....

I was alone at the time and wasn't sure what kind of psycho this guy was, and being in my cycling shoes, I wasn't going to go and confront the dude as we all know how slippery the cleats are on tar...

SO the reason for this post is to warn fellow cyclists to beware in the Lakeside area of this guy!!! it could have ended much worse had he managed to push my mate off his bike, ESPECIALLY if there were cars coming from behind, which fortunately there weren't so my mate managed to swerve out of the way. This could have happened to a lady or even a younger boy on the road..

So please guys, just beware in this area of a tall white male, wearing glasses(prescription) and if he wears them often, Blue Asics running shoes with bright orange laces, stay well clear of him!!!

The whole stretch from Lakeside to Fish Hoek is vuil uil.

Bergies and hobos abound

Pretty pleased we sold our house in Fish Hoek

Would not move back there.

I always have had a soft spot for the Berg and considered buying a flet there last year then sense prevailed...
