We are planning on having our own "little" cycle tour the day before the Argus, yes there will be Bootlegger coffee and banana bread. If the real one takes place, this will probably fall away, well not the Bootlegger part.

Sounds fair and more people riding the better!!

Given that they will anycase need to get past all the backmarkers I would hope they mostly doing it more for "fun" than for racing.

My only hope now would be that they do monitor this very stringently and that they do not allow ebikes into the chutes (now being easier for the marshall to just indicate them that their group is taking off later

Agreed, they should have a scale at the start chute, any bike below 10kg gets a time and everything over is an e bike and must start at the back. Then the person at the chute doesn’t have to know what an e bike looks like.

Reality is that some of them will but many won't. Will create the same kind of problems to backmarkers that some of the 2nd lappers do when they chase their 2nd lap sub whatever.

But no point ranting about it, I guess it was inevitable.

My wife's cheap Titan MTB weighs well over 10kg, but there is nothing e- about it ;)

the bikes I've ridden for the last 20 years have all been over 10kg

i've only now gotten a bike thats under 10kg, but ad 2 bidons and it will be over 10 again.

without fancy equipment its going to be pretty difficult for the ooms and tannies to identify the motor bikes

I'm getting a little ticked off with the entry system.

All 3 of us are PPA members. But when I try to enter it allows only 2 of us to enter and for the 3rd one it tells me that it is closed and will only open on the 21st. Irritating.

Last year as well as the year before I had to beg for confirmation of our entries, seeding and start times as it appears that 2 of us went off their e-mail list. Irritating!

Better fix it before I get grumpy. E-mails to PPA and Cycletour doesn't seem to get anywhere. Irritating!

It should be a smooth and painless business - the entry process! Come on CTCT, you've had enough practice now!
