I STRUGGLE to understand how people can't complete any STRAVA CHALLENGE.

Ps. I think I May be Slightly Mentally Challenged

I don't even take most of them up as I know I am not going to make it.

I have ridden a single 100km ride once in my life and see no valid reason to do it again. I ride to have fun, not to get silly little worthless badges that for the most part actually take the fun out of ridding.

Its only a challenge if its actually something you want to do and cannot easily do, otherwise its a noddy badge. If your a roadie that does 100km+ rides every weekend then what's the challenge?

I also personally feel the challenges are heavily weighted towards road ridding, doing 100km in 1 sitting is 2 very different things when u move from road to mountains. Bikes are generally heavier, tyres gripier, trails gripier and more technical. I know a very experienced rider who maxes at 23kph on a mtb yet can hit 35 on an old road bike.

Hahahaha come on.. No social grants, no food, starvation and death.

No cycling but plenty of alternative exercise options...

The 'comparison' is ludicrous and once again highlites the inability for us to see how privileged we are.

It won't end well, but just because they are forced to que for their grants doesn't mean the whole lock down is a bust nor does it vaguely justify a bunch of 5%ers to feel aggrieved they can't sports on their bicycle.

Same laws/rules for both...they can't cycle and you can collect a grant, seek medical support and shop.

There's always an alternative ...or should be.

I go nuts if i can't cycle.

The point is not the comparison...

but the hypocrisy of 1 law for you and another law always in this country for someone else.

Pls go nuts in the comfort of your own home.. people need to buy food to eat and will then return to their homes..be it a shack or a modest little house they share with many people, where social distancing is more of a challenge for them than you. I honestly don't care about how hard done you are that you can not go for a cycle.

Basically get over yourself.

Everyone lives in their world.

Re grants and queues

Can the govt not allocate more ppl to shorten the queues . This is not new

Especially to help the aged. Why must they stand in the sun. If the focus has shifted to this now and everyone cares here, well why not care enough to do something and help the elderly with chairs and much shorter queues etc? Or is it easier just to bash my post.

I'll take a stab..

Posting pics of the poor who have no choice but to risk the virus by queuing for their grants while complaining about you not being allowed to ride your bike for fun?

Noddy badges can be fun  . I go for the climbing badge as I feel it better represents what I'd like to be good at and it's better suited towards MTB. I don't expect to get all the little badges, just the ones within reach  . I'm sure the effect will wear off at some point .

Attempted a HITT session in the very private backyard of our temp lock-down accommodation. Torn a calve muscle. 95kg cannot accelerate and de-accelerate like that

Not cool. At least you can't get FOMO cause NOBODYs out!

Take it easy, get some rest and you'll come back stronger.
