Yup, I had my first pre-work pedal this morning, cannot stand the heat. Even at 6h45am when I stopped it was 23C

Commuted to work today on Bridgestone RB-2 and decided to take a lunch time ride to Vida in Parktown to get my free drink from Vitality Rewards. Felt like such a hipster riding my 'vintage' bike with steel toe-clips in my work clothes

naaah... you no hipster there. Vida way too mainstream for that.

Last week I did a quick 38km on the SS, and took this pic of the Henderson Valley, doesn't do the view justice

Then on Sunday, the hottest day of the spring, the trail Boss of the Thomas River MTB phoned me at 9 to come and recce the 45km trail with him. We started at 10, and rode through the heat of the day, he's got some amazing trails lined up, I don't know if they'll be all ready for this years race (31 Oct, BTW).

The Drift where , in 1801 Thomas Bentley was shot with a poisoned Bushman arrow giving his name to both the river and the area!

Spent the last couple of days in Emgwenga (Waterval Boven) in Mpumalanga.

These road trips serve as a reminder as to just how soft I am - and I need to stop taking the chicken runs if I'm ever to upskill.

When I dared take my eye off the trail , riding along the ridge was breathtaking, but nerve wrecking as hell. The trails at Tranquilatas may be short - but when they say strenuous - they are not kidding. The mountain loop did me in proper. :(

I also got schooled by this little poodle. He was jumping up & down rocks that were twice his height - without a care in the world. Really cool riding along with the dogs.
