My son and his school mate were victims in that 2C crash. Pure Savage bib moertoe and some roasties, but he is fine, soldiered on and finished in 3.26.

They are not sure what caused it, they were just part of the 20 to 30 cyclists that went down.

It was just stupidity. 2C caught the main 2B and then there was a difference in speed and dingbats in 2B trying to hook onto 2C and could not. Also trying to force onto wheels they could not hold. Bang, stupid is as stupid does. Toe spat die K@K.

As we caught them I said HKGK, and then it did.

I spoke to a guy who did it on an e-bike. He used 3 batteries, third one was almost flat. He was super chuffed on his 3:09 time. Do not really understand the reasoning of these riders. Went to the finish afterwards looking at the riders coming in, saw lots of ebike riders in good physical shape.

I wondered how many batteries people would get through - perhaps they could make a rule that you have to "carry any spare batteries with you" . . . .

Imagine what your PB could be if you raced in "ballsout - supersport mode" and had people waiting en-route with unlimited spare batteries for you to swap out?

Must be dam strong rider cause rules state no assistance above 25km/h .. so he had to peddle all the extra weight at 35km/h .. respect

Sho, no love for second Lappers here, think the okes stopping in middle of road, weaving around and crashing into one another are worse than okes sitting in a small bunch chatting and taking selfies in between beer stops. Our group alone paid R7000 towards charity to ride the second lap and one of the savage ladies raised R10 000 for CANSA while doing the second lap.

It's not the second lappers that pay and behave that I am upset with. It's those that don't bother to pay and then behave like tjops.

I have no qualms with e-bike riders. Just think that mentioning "PB" and e-bike in the same sentence is irrelevant. Like racing around the CTCT in a car with your Garmin on?   ;)  :P Glad most people enjoyed the ride, including the e-bike riders  ;)

Great meeting you too, Dadbot. You still looked fresh as a daisy, ready for your 25km run you planned.

Started in 2B, tried to stick to the front of the group as much as possible, for safety reasons.

Had a close shave or two on the Blue Route, guys thinking that taking that non-existent gap will get them to the finish quicker. NOT WHEN YOU'RE BLEEDING AND ON THE ASPHALT, CHOP.

Caught up with a large number of 2A on the stretch between Muizenberg and Fish Hoek, bunch grew way too big, with bottles and as a result bikes, flying all over. Going past Jubilee Square, I was still on schedule for around 3 hrs, but then things got so crazy on those few risers and pinch points between the Naval Base and the Golf Course, that I tapped off and decided that I want to finish with all my skin still on my body, and my bike still in one piece.

Went past the crash between the trees, with the Medics still attending to the fallen cyclist. This made me even more aware of self preservation, and I kept out of big / dangerous bunches as much as possible, which I managed.

Ended up with a time I'm not too unhappy about.

I suppose Racetec are a bit busy at the moment but I dropped back but my time is calculated from my original start time.

Same here. Website states time will reflect from actual start group, and if this is not the case a query should be logged.

Reference also made to a results query form which I don't seem to see.

That said, not sure I'm going to go through the effort ... I'll just collect the trophy from Travis. LOL

To the Velokhaya bunch...next year I will be handing out complementary PK's...

You fellas pass like complete chops slicing through the crowd and causing mayhem, all the while shouting and whistling as you approach. And to "Junior"...you so nearly clipped my bars at 30 kph. That would have ended badly for you. Just saying.

To the idiot who passed between myself and another cyclist on the Cape Point descent, you sir are a mullet. How you think it's acceptable to pass between two riders doing nearly 50 kph within a hands breadth between bars...brains are few...

Which bunch was this?

I know where he lives, a bit far from you but let me know................ ;)

Number 29 done!!!!!!

snip

i was right at the front in my start group and one of the guys in the front thought he might have gotten his chip over the matt there a few minutes before the gun by accident. The antie there said that the first timing matt was only the one at the top of NMBlvd. so basically a 1km neutral zone. makes sense because last year it was just before the ramp and the last groups lost almost 30min waiting their turn to walk up the ramp due to people being unable to clip in.
